Historical Community Tasting Notes
Preserved from the RateBeer community archive (circa 2000–2018)
Rediscovered rating found on a scrap of paper. Some time in March 2004 (same time as Barnsley Bitter from the same brewery). Venue unknown. Not that pale. More like mid-amber. Fairly bitter, but tempered by plenty of juicy fruit. More on the palate than in the aroma. A decently balanced best bitter. After going bust for the sixth time it looks like
Cask at Head of Steam, Liverpool Mid brown hoppy, matly flavour leads to dry hop finish. Great balance of fruity malt and dry hoppiness. First Blackpool beer I have tried and I was impressed
Cask Handpump at the Helter Skelter, Frodsham 02/09/2001 Amber coloured beer with some pale malt and a bitter hoppy finish.
