Draught pint at Redbones on 8/13/06.Small, but modestly retained medium-tan head is perched lightly atop a deep tan-brown-black body, with high opacity. It eventually fades to partial cover, and ring, but leaves some lacing in trail.What could be mistaken for diacetyl, is actually just a creamy, yet bittersweet mix of malts producing a butterscotc

Tap. Pours dark, dark, brown, almost black with a thin tan colored head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, caramel, coffee, floral hops. Palate is medium to full, mildly carbonated, bitter finish. Excellent example of the style. Very enjoyable beer, I wish they would bottle this again.

I dont know about porters well...but this is an excellent brew. Draught at Founders Ale House. Very dark with a rough, light brown, creamy head. Starts very sweet, caramel, chocolate, roasted malts of all sorts....finishes well with a bit of bitterness and sweetness to balance. A VERY enjoyable beer.
