First rye beer I have tried if one does not count kvas as beer. Impressed by nice taste of the resulting beer. There is some peppercorn added which can be tasted but is mild enough that it doesnt disturb. The pepper is strong enough however to limit me from drinking too many of them in a row as it has a cumulative effect. Would like to try this wit
Bottle LCBO Promotion Dark amber pour with beige head. Pleasant spicy aroma, a little sweet. Pepper evident in taste, not over powering in one glass but, I expect, somewhat challenging on the second and subsequent bottles in an evening. As with other beers from this brewery, a really interesting taste experience, but not a session beer.
pours clear dark copper with decent head. grainy and malty, caramel and some roasted malts. spices but mostly pepper comes quite in your face at the end. interesting for sure.
