750 ml bottle from Wine and Cheese Place. 2011 vintage. Pours a deep, dark, nearly opaque brown color with small but resilient dark tan head. Aroma of barbecue- a nice smoky wood character, earth, cocoa, coffee, and a little funk but not too much. Flavor is immediately sour and funky, with lots of berry fruits, grapes, and apples, along with roaste
bottled pours black with a dark tan foamy head. aromas of chocolate and burnt malt. the beer is overpoweringly sour, masking most other flavors other than sour cherry. the sour lasts on the tongue but the beer is lively. not one of my favorites, probably wont buy this again, but the label rocks
This was a really interesting beer. Explained to me as a Imperial Sour i might have ad a preconceived notion of sour cherries and fruits but they were there. Nice and sour with a good mouth feel. Interesting and enjoyable.
