Tasted on 6/25/11 from a 12oz bottle sent to me as an extra in a trade, this was from the bottling in 2010. Pours an absolutely opaque oily black with a thick light brown head that slowly recedes to a thin layer of spotty lace along with an average collar. The nose is darkly roasted malt with intense coffee and dark chocolate accompanied by a bit
12oz thanks to grub.9.5% alc. Appearance : Pitch black medium foamy brown creamy head. Light lacing. Aroma : Great malt with great chocolate. Nice dark fruits with notes of licorice. Very well balanced. Taste : Nice malt with nice hops. Finish is nicely hoppy with nice notes of dark chocolate and light licorice. Mouthfeel is soft with a very lig
12 oz bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Very nice aroma, with smoky coffee notes, molasses, dark fruit, dark chocolate. Flavor leads with a lot of molasses, raisin, smoky coffee, but could use some more balance instead of tilting so strongly to molasses.
