Pushing the boundaries of flavour complexity, Omnipollo Omnipolloscope #3 is a bold and superstrong indulgent imperial stout, verging strongly on pastry stout. This beer has an astounding 16% ABV. It suggests the opulent experience to come by pouring an opaque onyx colour with often not much head.
With aromas of dark chocolate ganache, dried currants, medjool dates and soaked plums, this beer smells like the dream treat for a beer lover. More aromas of vanilla, coffee and even hints of waffle surface as it warms, producing an alluring bouquet that reflects its light-hearted "Rarerest German Jesus Choclorelei Waffle Neapolitan Ice Cream Cheesecake" name.
On taste, Omnipolloscope #3 offers a symphony of flavours. Notes of thick chocolate and fudge predominate - layers of caramel, coffee and sweet oak follow. There are faint fruity undertones evocative of cherry and strawberry, probably hints of its "Neapolitan" inspiration. The mouthfeel is rightly full-bodied and thick, and the taste is balanced by a hint of roasted bitterness and obvious alcohol warmth. This beer offers a decadent, dessert-like experience that pushes the boundaries of what beer may be, therefore attesting to Omnipollo's inventiveness.
