Definitely the type of stout you’d happily swap a warm blanket for. Clocking in at a (some would say) extreme 14.5 % ABV, it’s the one of the latest decadent instalments in their Crema Imperial Stout series, a liquid dessert that means serious business.
Velvety and indulgent from the first pour, it combines a plush blend of chocolate malt, wheat and oats into a reconstructed cuddle of a mouthfeel. Add in Carafa Special III and Melanoidin malts alongside brown sugar and Belgian dark syrup and you’ve got a flavour tapestry woven with deep caramel, toffee, and a whisper of molasses.
As the richness washes over your tongue, Hard Lines Peru seasonal coffee steps up, layering in vivid notes of red fruits, toasted biscuit and yet more toffee, balancing sweet with a coffee-fuelled complexity. But the pièce de résistance? A delicate pinch of sea salt and a dash of East Kent Goldings, a subtle yet meaningful twist cutting through the richness with a light sparkle that keeps everything balanced.
