12 oz bottle. Poured into a tulip glass. Pours a mahogany with ample light tan head. Aroma of bread and Belgian Abbey ale. Taste is very deep and full with a heavy alcohol presence. Bitter hops are noted, but the backbone is sweeter malty flavors of roasted malt and cocoa. Some sweet fruit notes as well. A very heavy beer, good for winter.
pours dark murky brown with a beige disappearing head. burnt caramel, toffee, strong alcohol bourbon notes, tons of toffee-vanilla along with dark stewed fruits. ideal balance of sweetness and biting hops bitterness - grassy and herbal. masterpiece. ddc has done it again.
Nice caramel start but found alcohol presence a little overwhelming. Still, food beer from always interesting brewery.
