Bottle into pint glass. Pours a beautiful dark brown with a light tan head that dissipates rather quickly. This beer has heavy aromas of coffee, camp-fire smoke, butter and roasted malts. The flavor is of coffee, malts, burnt nuts, and a slight hint of toffee sweetness. Mouthfeel is a little on the light side for a porter, but this brew is still ex
Bottle poured into a tulip pint on 7-26-07. Dark ruby brown color with a 1 finger dark tan head. Big coffee note that dominates. Dark chocolate, roasted barley and milk chocolate compliment. Coffee taste initially with some dark chocolate. Can you guess? COFFEE with roasted barley. Body was a little watery and carbonation was very light. A bit much
Pours dark brown with ruby red highlights and a tan head. Smells of chocolate, dark fruit (figs, raisins, some plums), some roastiness. Tastes of chocolate, caramel, coffee, some nice peppery splashes, elements of toffee. Mouthfeel is full with a finish that yields a nicely balanced roastiness.
