Seven Island: Tsoureki

This Mahleb, cardamon, mastique, Tahitian vanilla, white chocolate and roasted hazelnut praline imperial pastry stout is/was brewed by Seven Island in Corfu, Greece. This one is currently on deck amongst my huge collection of beers yet to have over the coming weeks, months and years.

Historical Community Tasting Notes

Preserved from the RateBeer community archive (circa 2000–2018)

Big white head that haunted the glass for the duration. Big citric acid in the nose with some chees, sweat with almost an underlying perfumed flowery note. Started bracingly tart but mellowed out as it cam to tempature. Lemon, cirus pith, rancid leaves, french munster with an earthy, vegital bitterness on the sides of the tounge. Creamy lightl
This was a great gueuze. Golden in color with a nice light, white head. Super musty with notes of cobwebs, must, mold, and hay. Nice bitterness to complement the sour flavors. Its all smoothed out with the nice woodiness from the aging. Its so sad to see this brewery has closed. They make such good beer.
I guess I dont get lambics. Looks nice enough, like champagne, but the overly sour taste was too much for me
