Historical Community Tasting Notes

This poured into the glass as 100% toffee-colored, rocky foam, at first ... the head waterfalled down into a chalky, ruddy orange beer. Almost a peppery aroma ... The flavors were a bit hard for me to pin down. This has an oddly light palate ... tad of spicy (nutmeg, clove) malt ... but not as good as their regular hefeweizen or kristal.
Pours with the sound of fizz, and a nice thick biggish-bubble foamy head forms, but it is reduced to just surface bubbles by sip 2. Appealing caramel-colored, hazy appearance. I an ale fan, but this is one good lager. Medium body, well balanced malts, and a hint of spiciness. Overall a very good dunkelweizen. $2.99 for a 500ml bottle.
Bottle. Dark brown hazy hue with a small head. Medium malt and wheat aroma. Medium body. Medium flavor.
