(3/14/08) Bottle bought at De Bierkoning and drank at a friends house in Amsterdam. Black with medium light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, some oatmeal and some coffee notes. Sweet malty flavor with oatmeal and some drier roasted tones. Medium bodied and a smooth creamy mouthfeel. A good, well-made stout.
Pours a DARK brown (black) with a thin tan head. Sweet roasted marshmallows. Flavor is sweet and malty, with a fairly nice balance. Palate is extra smooth (silky seems to be overused :-}). Love the session strength. Overall one of the best Oatmeal Stouts around.
Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout is a black stout with a light cappuchino head. The aroma is malty and roasted and the flavor is very creamy and silky/smooth.
