Historical Community Tasting Notes

Pours dark copper with a small creamy tan head. For a porter the nose is really centred towards caramel, toffee and diacetyl rather than roasted barley. Not that its not noticeable, just not at the forefront. Which actually happens to appeal to me! Flavours show more roasted malt than the aroma, but theres still a fair whack of caramel and toffee.
Pours dark, ends up looking like a Coke. Minimal off-white head. Nice aromas of molasses and raisins. Tastes like molasses, some caramel, a tiny bit of bitterness, and raisins. Smooth tasting porter, pleasant. Not the best porter, but definitely worth a try.
Nice black pour with almost no head. Nose is resins and malt. Taste is tree bark and maple. Rated 6/20/02
