12oz bottle, 07 version. Every other time Ive tried this one its been fresh and way too boozy. First time trying a one-year. Pours black with a minimal off-white head. Aroma of bourbon, malt, dark fruit and chocolate. Now to taste: WOW! One year is all this beer needed. Dark fruit tartness up front, followed by a burst of chocolate. Nice bo
From bottle. Part of January Dayton Beer Tasting event. Pour nearly black with dark latte colored head. Aromas of dark chocolate and malt. A fine blend of flavors coat your mouth - roasted nuts, espresso, and cocoa. Long pleasing finish with the alcohol just peeking through a little. High quality at a great price. Good job Garrett.
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2008 Dark syrupy pour with a caramel colored head. Aroma is of chocolate, caramel, figs, raisins, and a bit of orange. Wonderful. Taste is first of chocolate, fruit and then finishes with a dry smoky coffee finish. Warming alcohol. Not a session beer. Great on a cold night next to a warm fire.
