Historical Community Tasting Notes

Preserved from the RateBeer community archive (circa 2000–2018)

Bottle @ Cafe Spesial, Bergen. Pours a hazy straw-colored body with a thick, white foamy retention on top. Nose is immediately "bretty"; barnyard funk, acidic notes, hay. Hints of red apples and French "chevre" cheese. Taste is very dry, with crisp, near-parching notes of white wine, cellar mold, champagne yeast and grassy hops. Very low in tartnes
bottle@bar: bottle says 2007-2008 making this perhaps a 2008 vintage, not sure as to how I should read it, it is good until 2030, amber coloured, decent but not extreme amounts of tartness with some sourness, tastes barnyard, cellar, cemetery, lemon, fruits, vinegar, sherry wood, white pepper, medium acidic & dry finish
Bottle. Pours pale yellow with a few bubbles, looks like a cider. Smells like a dirty barnyard, odor is unspeakable. Flavour, once you get past that ghastly stink, isnt bad. Its rather like a home made cider, but with a fuller body. Sour finish, rather off seeming.
