This was a beer left over fom the 2010 Army-Navy game. Navy31 Army 17 The ale poured a clear amber color. My favorite! The forthy white head laced down the glass. The spices added to the ale of nutmeg and cinnamon were present in the taste. It makes this ale more complex than most. A fun ale for a game but not one for the lang haul.
12oz bottle from the mix-six at HEB. Pours a dark honey colored body with some tight, bubbly head that recedes quickly. Aroma is lightly spiced (nutmeg, ginger, cloves), yeast and lightly sweet. Flavor are similar to the nose---Sorta like liquid pumpkin pie. A bit harsh on the finish. Medium mouthfeel.
Lasting white head with a caramel color. Smell of bready caramel malt plus a hint of nutmeg. Smooth palate with a light astringent finish. A good balance of spices, hint of cinnamon. The taste started out nice a strong but fizzled by the end.
