Bottled on 9/29/05. Poured a clear, dull golden with a huge initial off-white head... settled down to 1/4" after a couple minutes. Aroma was mild for the style, but well-balanced and enticing... crisp floral hops, pine needles, and caramel from the malt side. Hop presence is the dominant feature of the flavor and finish, and is well-done. Just
Harpoon IPA pours to a hazy deep orange color with a tall and rocky off white head that fades, and a moderate to good amount of carbonation. The nose on this beer is fragrant with some nice flowery and citric hop aromas, paired with some fruity estery aromas of apple jelly, and just a touch of sweet caramel aroma. The palate is soft with some good
Bottle. Pours golden with small white head. The aroma is even malt and some faint bitter hops. The flavor is tannic hops up front and fades to malt at the end. A textbook IPA, but decent.
