Cask - The Duke of Wellington, Norwich. Hazy amber, disappearing medium off-white head. Perfumey, lozenge-like artificial cherry aromas with little else. Cherry again is the predominant quality, but its obvious its cherry essence. Some sourness and a slight hint of bitterness. Medium body, soft mouthfeel and a clinging sweetness.
Pours classc blonde pint, sweet fake cherry aroma, taste is sweet, marzipan like and plenty of cherry flavours, but not real cherry, with a slightly cloying alcoholic finish. Not my thing, too sweet and cloying.
8th July 2008. Nose of cherry bakewell tart. Carries over in to the taste - cherry and almond sweetness. a very light hop touch at the end.
