UPDATED: JUN 4, 2008 2006 bottle. Pours a murky candy apple red with brownish highlights. Big, fluffy head. Sticky lacing is prominent. Aromas of plum, caramel, licorice, cinnamon, fig, and chocolate. Nice. First touch on the tongue is frothy and smooth. Plum and dark candy, brown sugar, fig, and sweet banana. Poured a nice ruby color with a decent off white head. Looked pretty in the glass, but smelled like hell and tasted worse. Im wondering if I got a bad bottle. I might have to revisit this. It was like drinking cherry cough syrup that had been aged in oak. And this is listed as a Quadrupel? Not like any other Quad Ive had.
Aroma of fruits soaked in wine. Darker fruit on the palate with a nice zing. Raisins and cherries and port. A full bodied presence. Very good American brew.
