UPDATED: OCT 7, 2007 Can be cellared for four years yet the bottle states "refrigerate." I did both. I had the bottle for nine months, and it has been refrigerated for the last two. The aroma begins with yeast, followed by yeast and then sweet malt. The appearance is very dark, slighty hazy orange with only a few bubbles. The simple taste is g
Pours out a nice dark amber-copper color with an off white head that dissappears quite quickly. Aroma is sweet and yeasty. Tastes of malts, candy sugar, alcohol, and something like pumpkin pie spice. Mouthfeel is fairly thin and the carbonation is too low. Overall its a decent, enjoyable beer, but far from Averys best.
Pours out a clear, deep copper with a small, short-lasting white head. Sweet, fruity nose, with a bit of wood. First taste is a bit cloying... only somewhat malty, and sweetish. Aftertaste is pure alcohol and spritziness. The palatte should be chewier for the gravity. A little disapointed for such a big bear.
