Thick dark black brew with mild roastiness but good dark malt bite. A semi-sweet stout with noticeable PNW hopping. Excellent on tap ....in a bottle it loses a lot of its luster.
An easy-going stout. I would have liked to have seen it more assertive and flavor-packed. Certainly not bad, but Id say this in the bottom half of this brewerys line of beer.
UPDATED: JAN 28, 2003 Maybe if I drank it during the cold winter months my rating would be higher, but a stout in mid August just doesn't hit the spot.
