12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter. Pours jet black with a creamy light brown head that leaves excellent lacing on the snifter. The aroma is of sweet malt with a roasted barley character, hints of coffee and a wonderful hoppiness. UPDATED: JUL 12, 2009 12 oz. into sniffer. Oil black pour with a "Creamy beige" head that lingers and laces. Aroma is rich and chocolaty with some molasses, vanilla, cherries, raisins, and a faint and pleasant hop bitterness. Pours Dark! with an off-white head. Aroma of roasty malt. The first flavor is a surprise of kickin hops - I say surprise because I was expecting a rich sweet malty flavor following the aroma. Finishes with another blast of biter hops. If youre a hop person, this could be the Stout for you. Not my "cup of tea".
