Corked and caged bottle from 2007. Pours slightly hazy, bright cherry red, with a small, short-lived head. Aromas of oak, sour cherry and cherry pits, a little funk and barnyard, and old cheese. The flavor is sour cherry skins, tart cherry flesh, and slightly bitter fruit pits. Tart and nearly puckering with low carbonation, and overall very dr
Bottled sample. Pale red in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas are of earth, mild cherry, mild lemon, and funk. Quite earthy again in the mouth, along with notes of cherry, meyer lemon, cherry pit, almond, and leather. Mildy acidic and light bodied. A nice dry kriek, but seems a bit lacking in intensity.
Bottled 28 November 2006, consumed 23 December 2010. Murky, muddy red body, quickly dissipating pinkish head. Tart nose with vinaigrette, cherry skin, and plenty of musty oak and earth, sour and lactic. Tart, sour body, quite dry, with cobwebby wood dust, cherry skin, and cherry pits. Puckering.
