UPDATED: SEP 15, 2007 (Bottle, Ive never had it on tap!) This was the first decent IPA I had and is the IPA which I use as the measuring-stick for all other IPAs. Sept. 13, 2007; 12 oz. bottle. If youre going to call a brew an IPA, it should come out swinging. The hops here are quite muted compared to top-flight IPAs; finish is on the watery side. Nothing at all offensive here, but definitely in the second tier of a robust style. If they called this a "pale ale", Id have rated it higher. ;-)
9/15/07 From an old bottle. Aroma is an ok hop blend forward with a decent sweet malt balance. Appearance is a clear gold with a good white head. Flavor is earthy, moderatly bitter hops forward with a faint malt balance. Mouthfeel is medium/light bodied with med/high carb feel. Overall, not bad, but needs to be better blended.
