Brown mahogany, disappointing head formation and retention. Aroma is yeasty, fruity like raspberry jam with oak, clove and spice. Dark fruity malts at the front of the palate with oaky dryness and nutmeg spice. Mild chocolaty flavors as it warms. Palate is a little light and flavors don"t last too long. Very nice deep red with a tinge of cherry color about it. Mild coffee with strong yeast and fruit/pepper come out strong in the middle with Alcohol by-products throughout middle to end. Lasting goodness on this. A really impressive beer for the style. Would be a great Sunday night top-off.....
A beautiful burgundy colour, a bubblegummy, cherry and christmas fruitcake aroma, and a palate of dark fruits, malty and a warming alcohol finish. A complex, balanced, tasty beer.
