THOUGHTS: Almost like a double IPA with a little twist. Mostly double IPA flavors, but then out jumps a very light but distinct coffee and chocolate surprise around the finish. Nicely balanced. Almost like a reverse double IPA, if that makes any sense. A really good beer. Almost great. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium orangey red with an o
22 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper red with a fluffy off white head that retains well and laces the glass. The aroma is sweet candy and piney hops. The flavor is sweet sugary caramel and some melon leading to a good sized resiny piney hop finish that leaves a slightly sticky lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. The alcohol is well hidden. I
Bomber Knowing that American Strong Ale is a placeholder category, Imperial IPA is probably the closest REAL category for this beer, except that the malt is a bit to prominent to fit. There is just a lot going on in this beer. A pretty red-tinged dark amber pour with a big and lacy pale yellow head. Creamy full body with moderate carbonation. Pine
