A Mes rate. Bottle thanks to Tom.Slightly hazy russet brown colour with a very thin bubbly white head. Aroma is full of sickly malt. The flavour is the same. Far too much. Some cardboard, some nutty character, almost fruity but the malt is just so sickly. Drinking this and comparing it to the commercial description is hilarious. "Delicate hops"? Th
What I like about scotch ale is that it is a style which clearly exists that people claim doesnt exist. True, the origins are a bit ambiguous but, you know, there it is. Finally grabbed a bottle of this to rate. Initial impression is that it is rather flat. Would like a bit more carbonation. Decent caramel malt sweetness with some plum flavor. Nutty molasses sort of aroma. Clean finish with some grassy notes. Ok not great here. Would like a bit more hop presence on the back end.
