This beer is just way too off balanced. After a couple weeks of my brothers around the world with stouts, Ive come to realize that these over the top imperial stouts are really too much, and quite frankly too juvenile. I think that we are in this stage like the wine people where US beer (like US wine) has to go more, more, more over the top, especi
Pours like motor oil with thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate and mild hint of coffee and roasted malts. Taste is chocolate, coffee, and a little hop bite in the finish. Nice thick, creamy mouthfeel. Very easy drinking. The age on this one does mellow the coffee bitterness.
Dark brown; small brown head. Lovely, rich dark roasted malts and bitter chocolate. Overall smooth, but big, full bodied, powerful with flavors of molassas, carob, powder sugar, raisins, prunes, bitter hops. Had in the bottle and tap many times; always a favorite.
