What a wild color this stuff pours out, it looks like darkly varnished cherrywood and the head is amazingly huge, two fingers high of tannish, fluffy whipped cream, crusty even with large pockets and divets, and it rains curtains of lace with some sticking in strings and ink-blot patches. Aroma is quite nice with a big spicy, citrusy, orangy floral
(Batch #30) I get it...these Belgian ambers really do resemble apple cider! The nicely sweet aroma, apparent upon opening, was characterized by grapes and apple cider. Poured apple cider brown, with a (becoming) thin, small-bubbled white head. Flavor was dominated by apple cider notes, with a nicely carbonated mouthfeel. The aftertaste was bitt
Very yeasty, nutty, leathery, and much like biting into a large piece of steak. A bit of a burning, slightly metallic finish. Just so much happening that I felt like a cub scout that was sent on a mission a bit too large. While being very enjoyable I think that once again I was trying something quite good that has all the signs of being refined to
