(Bottled on 2/19/03) Wow, this beer is almost glowing, very red with copper highlights. The nose is full of noble hop spiciness with a touch of malt. The beer itself is full bodied and smooth. I find the defining character to be malt. The hop aspect is just the right amount to balance out what would be a rather sweet brew. I find this to be of supe
Not my favorite style but the fact that I find this a drinkable beer must mean something good. Strong flavors, sweet caramel, good hit of hops, alcohol. Holds up to strong foods, went well with a spicy Chili.
A little disappointing. Pretty average doppelbock. Dark brown in color. Slight alcohol burn. Caramel tones, decent roasted malt, but missing something.
