UPDATED: JUL 1, 2008 As Chimay Blanche: Appearance: Golden, nice amount of head - not longlasting. Last bit a bit cloudy. Aroma: Bit of fruit. Citrusy. Taste: Hopsy, bit of fruit. Bitterish. Info: 330ml bottle, 21/3-2006, 93/300 As Chimay Cinq Cents: Appearance: Hazy golden. Good amount of off-white head. Sediments and floaty bits. Aroma: Fruit an
33cl bottle, pours a hazy golden with a sizable white head, moderate lacing. Aroma is candied fruits, yeast, some citrus hops and spice. Flavor is more candied fruits sweetness, with some spice and a light citrus. Not bad, and a notch better than the Westmalle Tripel, but realizing this style isnt doing much for me.
Slightly cloudy and dark golden pour with a huge white head that eventually recedes. Spicey and fruity aroma, slightly sweet. Flavor is yeasty with a slightly mustiness on the front end. Middle reveals some banana, clove, apple and dried fruit. Finishes dry with lingering yeast. Pretty solid!
