1994 bottle - It poured no head, no lacing, opaque body, with a red-black hue. The nose was sweet, also alcohol and wine with a sweet, wine taste to it. The palate was tingly, smooth, sticky and it had a burning sensation as it was swallowed. It was medium bodied. This was so-so, but not a beer that I want to drink again even if the opportunity pre
1997 bottle. Well, I guess I'll go against the grain on this one. We opened it on a whim, my friend Jeff mentioned it, and I said "sure, I've got one in the garage". We got more sweet smells out of it than that much publicized "soy sauce". Small samples passed around the table, spent a lot of time smelling it - like a sweet brandy or port wine.
I bought a half dozen of the '94 bottles in '94 and after drinking a few I just buried them in the closet because they were just hard to enjoy. The '94 has gotten much better over time, and my last bottle won't get opened for a few more years. This is a still "beer" with a very dark brown color.
