12 oz bottle - 2004. Murky dark walnut with a small tan and white cap. Woody blackberries and dusty raisins. Rich, medium body with just enough carb to balance. Butterscotch, dates and coffee; hard to pin down. Chalky hops and alcohol in the end. Sticky lips. Some age has served this well.
12 oz. bottle. Darker cloudy amber with the various winter spices forming the aroma. A tad on the bitter side, but still with the 8.1 ABV provides a solid kick. For winter brews, I found Ithacas Winterizer a smoother yet equally potent potable, but this is still a very good beer.
The nose is of chocolate and caramel. Mostly chocolate. I taste a lot of cocoa, coffee and caramel malt. There is kind of a kaluha flavor to the beer. Respectable beer.
