Bottled sample via mnurda. Dark brown in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of mild roast coffee, subtle orchard fruit, and milk chocolate. Great balance on the palate with the roasted coffee and chocolate notes mixing with elements of vanilla, caramel, and fruit. Medium bodied with a dry roasty finish. Bottle. Pours dark brown with a foamy tan head that leaves nice lacing throughout. Raisin and some bitter hops in the aroma. Initial flavors include sweet raisins and subtle roasted coffee. Earthy hop and black licorice finish leaving a lingering dry taste. Medium bodied and well carbonated. Quite different from most porters Ive had.
Pours deep dark brown, moderate head. This one was served a little on the cold side, and I couldnt get much off the nose besides some whiffs of chocolate. Chocolate and roast on the tongue, malty with lots of bitter on the finish. The bitter lingers, unpleasantly. Just not digging this one.
