UPDATED: APR 21, 2011 On tap at The Wharf, Aalborg. As Dublin Porter. Its a dark, dark brown beer with a reddish glow. Clear, and topped by a creamy, finger-thick dark beige head. Buttery nose, heavily roasted borderlining charcoal. A bit weak. The flavor is heavily burnt, towards charcoal and ashtray, with notes of butter. Smooth, medium mouthfeel
Draught at the Wharf Aalborg, on St. Patricks Day, under the name Dublin Porter. The colour is black, but when you hold it up to the light it is more of a dark red, with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt, coffee and some chocolate. Flavour is pretty much the same as the aroma. It is also fairly bitter and it has some char notes. It is more roast
Bottle. Very dark brown with purple tints and a beige foam. Aromas are woody roast malts with far more green pine than expected. Some chocolate with nutty notes. Flavours are coffee with pine and grapefruit. More like a dark ipa. Still good, though.
