Founded in 2012 in St. Petersburg, Russia, AF Brew is among the first forces driving the Russian craft beer movement. Originally a gipsy business, the brewery gained popularity with their Ingria IPA, inspired by the historically contentious area where St. Petersburg is situated. Their journey from gipsy brewing to opening their own plant in 2016 marks a turning point in their expansion as well as the evolution of Russia's craft beer scene.

With their goal statement stressing the production of beers "which were never brewed before" while keeping "no rules," AF Brew's philosophy is based in invention and pushing limits. From barrel-aged imperial stouts to hop-forward IPAs to unusual sour beers, this method has produced a wide spectrum of brews. The brewery has especially received praise for their inventive IPA variants like the "Eat The Dust!" series and their imperial stouts, like the "Lobotomiya" series.

Opened in November 2016, the brewery's physical location is on St. Petersburg's historical site of an 18th-19th century city brewery. Equipped with a 20hl brewing system and 400hl fermenting capacity (with plans for development), this facility provides the platform for all their brewing activities, joint ventures and guest initiatives. It also boasts a tavern and a barrel room for wood-aging, providing a complete venue for manufacturing, research and community involvement.
