Founded in 2009 by craft beer pioneer David Logsdon, Logsdon Farmhouse Ales was a beloved brewery located in Hood River County, Oregon, rapidly praised for its Belgian-inspired farmhouse ales and sour beers. Celebrated for its dedication to organic ingredients, certified by Oregon Tilth and USDA, which established a high benchmark for quality in the craft beer sector. The brewery was located on a lovely 10-acre estate, and they exemplified the real spirit of farmhouse brewing, with every beer capturing the rustic appeal and complex flavours defining the technique.
Inspired by traditional Belgian methods and while pushing the limits of taste by barrel ageing and mixed fermentation, Logsdon Farmhouse Ales specialised in yeast-driven beers. Considered superstars in the craft beer scene for their complexity and balance, their beers, including the award-winning Peche 'n Brett and Seizoen Bretta, made their beers a sought-after find in the Pacific Northwest and some other regions. Unique beers like Szech 'n Brett and Spontane Wilde, as well as joint projects with other well-known brewers showed their inventiveness and commitment to the craft.
Though Logsdon Farmhouse Ales closed its doors in 2023, the craft beer scene still finds resonance in its creative brewing methods and commitment to quality. With its impact still felt among brewers and beer drinkers today, the brewery is one of pushing American-made farmhouse ales and sours to new heights. Over its years of business, Logsdon's dedication to organic ingredients, traditional brewing techniques, and a venue that really reflected the farmhouse mentality made it a beloved brand in the craft beer scene.
