Located in Peru's Sacred Valley, Pachar is a little town hidden treasure that provides visitors with a blend of modern craft beer culture with tradition. Renowned microbrewery Cervecería del Valle Sagrado, which has had a big influence on both local and international craft beer scene, calls the village home. Beer buffs visiting the Andes should definitely check out this brewery. Situated along the Urubamba River, the taproom of the brewery offers a distinctive environment where guests may savour a variety of beers, from saisons to double IPAs, all created with locally grown ingredients including Peruvian fruits and spices. Often luring both residents and visitors to its picturesque beer garden, the environment is laid back and community-oriented.
Apart from its craft beer selection, Pachar provides a great base for investigating the natural and historical features of the Sacred Valley. Strategically situated between Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, the town is easily reachable by a local buses (although do make sure you take the right bus and speak to people!), or for those eager to hike the surrounding paths or see historic Inca monuments such the Choqana ruins. A little walk from Pachar, the area is particularly well-known for the breathtaking Perolniyoc waterfall, which provides a window into the great natural beauty of the area.
