Craft Beers of the World

Dave Hatchet (beermaddave)

Forename: Dave     Surname: Hatchet

Location: Chicago

Bio:
Chicagoโ€™s #1 (self-proclaimed) beer connoisseur. Iโ€™ve been on a mission to taste every craft beer that crosses my path, from pilsners to porters. When Iโ€™m not debating hops ratios or how much foam is too much foam, Iโ€™m either BBQing in the backyard or yelling at the Cubs on TV (go Cubs go!). I may be loud, but itโ€™s all love and lager here. Letโ€™s raise a glass and chat brews!

Favourite beer style: American Pale Ale with a Midwestern twist

Pours hazy amber-gold with a creamy head that hangs around just long enough to say hi. Taste is a mix of malty sweetness, spicy Belgian yeast and a many some zippy orange zest in the back. Aromaโ€™s not the loudest, mellow caramel and yeast vibes, but it works. Bodyโ€™s smooth and balanced, with just enough dryness. Cheers, my Matilda!

First sip and BAM, itโ€™s like getting slapped in the face by a peach in the best way possible! Tangy, funky little number with peach, white wine and just enough sour zing. The aromaโ€™s got that barnyard funk (Brett, baby!), and the golden glow is stunning. Almost too pretty to drink (almost). Aged in wine barrels? Fancy stuff, but it pays off.
