Located on Liverpool's Great Charlotte Street, the Richard John Blackler is a well-known Wetherspoon bar. It was founded in 1908 by Richard John Blackler and is a prominent local icon. It occupies the ground level of the former Blacklers department store. The Liverpool department store was a hive of activity at its height, employing as many as a thousand people. Notable Liverpudlians like George Harrison, who was an apprentice electrician there in 1959, were among them. The shop was restored after suffering extensive damage in May 1941 during the Blitz, and it remained open until April 1988, when it closed for good.

To honour the site's rich history, it was converted into a Wetherspoon pub in the early 1990s and christened The Richard John Blackler. A huge U-shaped bar dominates the pub's open floor design, which also has booths and big windows that look down onto the busy street below.
